I want to get a security guard license, what do I have to do?
Getting an unarmed security guard license in the state of New York is easy. By completing the Basic Training Package with us you are very close as the package includes both classes you will need to complete and assistance with the actual license application.
When are your classes?
We offer classes every other week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
What classes do I need to take?
We can look up your status in the state’s division of licensing services records to help you determine which class you need if you are trying to renew your current license. We can also inform new students which classes will best suit their needs.
How much is it?
We do offer a cash discount for all our classes/services but different classes/packages have different prices. Our most popular classes/package is the Basic Training Package which is $225 cash and $253.86 to pay by card while the 8-hour annual in-service training class is $70 cash and $78.98 to pay by card.
Do I need to bring anything to class?
We provide handouts and a folder for students though something to write with and on is encouraged. Students should also bring their NYS DMV ID and need to write their identifying information.
How long does the process take?
For new students getting their license for the first time typically after mailing their application students can expect their license in the mail (assuming their paperwork is complete) in about 4-6 weeks though that is a very conservative estimate.
